Macbook Pro OS X 10.13 High Sierra & old iMacs running OS 10.6 Snow leopard

I have not gotten any work units for a long time. Do I have something set wrong, or is there some other reason?

I spent ages diagnosing this recently, and found that no GPU work is sent at all unless you elect to receive test applications in your preferences.

Try enable that, click update on Enigma@Home in your BOINC client, and see if it resolves the issue.

Thanks a lot for the response Dutch. I did not receive a notice when you posted so you may not remember answering. I cannot find this a "receive test applications" in the Mac OS X Boinc preferences. So I suspect, if you are correct, I cannot run it on my MacBook.

It is odd because Mac OS X 4 or later is listed on the website, and I have 400k credits so it did work at one time. Perhaps they did not bother to update the website but discontinued providing apps for Macs. But why doesn't it run on those old OS X 6 Snow Leopard computers?

There is code for using CUDA to address the graphics processor, which I would experiment with if I found it interesting, but every time I use the graphics processor on my laptop for heavy computing it turns it into a little oven. I don't like the risk.

Thanks for the reply Dutch.

Hi tmcdanel,
From the Home Page of Enigma, you can get to a page called server status. It's here: http://www.enigmaathome.net/server_status. As you can see, there are no non-GPU work units remaining. Well, at least none that are ready for sending.

As for receiving test applications, this can be set on your preferences page for this project. Direct link that works for me, since I'm always logged in: http://www.enigmaathome.net/prefs.php?subset=project

Best regards

Hi guys, I’ve set up headless boinc on an RPI 3 and attached enigma as a project, but I too am getting no work units. Any ideas?

Wait, is it because you don’t support ARM? I don’t fully understand how boinc projects work so maybe I missed that.
