I compiled for linux x86_64 with intel compiler but all I have is the enigma exec. How will I get the wrapper and/or xml or something to actually use it in boinc?

Also is there a simple benchmark that runs by itself without boinc so I can try out different execs and stuff. All the relevant links on this thread are 404 not found or outdated.

Thanks guys.

Hi TJM,

The links for the windows apps are broken at the top of the page.

Mike Doerner

PS Yup, my computer is running Win 7 now....:( At least I'm running the 64-bit version. I may play with the MS-C++ 2010 personal edition and see how the 64-bit code does in Windows.

There's an Android app available here https://github.com/matszpk/native-boinc-for-android
It works, however as far as I know, installing is a bit complicated (Android core client/manager is on the same page).
There is no direct support from the server yet (no platform), the app has to be run as anonymous platform.

I removed (some) of the old optimized apps for two reasons:

1. At least one (Windows) was partially broken without support for a function that will be required by the server soon.
2. Some of the apps returned very low quality results, I believe it was because of compiler optimizations messing something in the code. I'll put the apps back as soon as I find which ones are broken.

Which ones? I want to make certain I'm not using a bad optimized app. Thanks.

Looks like I'm using Enigma 0.76b 5.26?
That doesn't look like an optimized app, as my others have "local" in front of it. Am I correct? I guess I did not grab optimized apps for this project when I got this computer.

If you run Windows you have to stick with the c2d app I guess.
I had i7 version of the app but the performance change was barely noticable, almost non-existent.

I'll be updating optimized apps during next two weeks; one of the participants (not sure if I can publish his name - I'll ask him) sent me asm replacements for some of the core functions, test shows that asm version runs faster.

Hi
I just started to participate and I have an I7 920 and I will try the op app using c2d from what I read it works just as good with I7.
Thanks

I got serious problems while updating the apps on the server, it seems that my old app name enigma_m4_2 is completely incompatible with current server version.
It also affects the optimized apps; if I change the app name to get it compatible with the current code, all old apps will stop working.

Hello,

I saw this thread and was curious if there was an optimized app for v5.22 Windows (64-bit). I would be happy to be able to use anything that will boost performance! :D

Thank you in advance.

Hey,

just saw the news that there´s more work available, great thing :-)

Can I use the latest Windows version of the optimized app also on an Intel Ivy Bridge or will that break the WUs?

Many thanks

"Core 2" app works fine on i5/i7 processors.

Do the optimized apps no longer work?
I tried to install the C2D one on my Intel Q6600.

However it just gave me the error "[error] State file error: missing application file wrapper_5.22_windows_intelx86.exe"

So do they no longer work or did I just install it wrong?
I installed it to "C:\ProgramData\BOINC\projects\www.enigmaathome.net"

They should work, this kind of error looks like app_info.xml problem.

Got the opt apps working ok now.
I just had to set the project to no new work, let it finish off it's work.
Then install the opt apps for it to work.
