The project reverse proxy IP has been changed (as a result the entire *.enigmaathome.net is visible under different IP), the old one still works so older clients without support for dynamic IPs shouldn't have problems connecting.
The old proxy is going to have periodic downtimes, I'll be testing proxy setups with different software; right now it runs Apache + mod_proxy + mod_rewrite, I'm going to try similar setup with lighttpd or perhaps SQUID in http acceleration mode. When done it will be switched back to work as main proxy.

Also, since yesterday the project has two scheduler URLs. I'm not sure how BOINC handles multiple schedulers, so please let me know if there are any new bugs. One of the URLs has dynamic IP, so I suspect that it may not work for older clients.

I've rewritten a large part of the server backend from scratch. Combined with a database structure update, in the next few days it should fix most of the work fetch/high priority/super shord deadline related problems (the old code left some bugged workunits).

Validator upgraded, new version uses stderr_out to show additional info about tasks. This should be useful for invalid results, it explains why the task was marked as invalid.

I edited the script which calculates credits for workunits, instead of fixed runtime values now it extracts averages from the database. As a result, credits for awgly100_1, awgly100_2 and awgly100_3 tasks went up a bit.

I updated the server to the latest code (well, it was latest in the morning) and also made lots of experimental changes; right now most of the pages should be valid HTML 4.01, without tons of validation errors like before. Please let me know if something doesn't work.

P.S. I know about the server status and I'll bring back the old one tomorrow.

Yesterday I released new batch of workunits, as it turns out it's the most bugged batch in the project's history.
Almost everything is fixed already but still there's a small number of the tasks that will be marked as invalid after validation, that means credits are granted. I just need to send them again because of missing database entries.

hmmm...bugged you say? that explains why the work units stop after about 6 mins and move onto the next one! It's been doing it since last night, I don't know what's going on with that. Do you know what it could be?

Does it say "completed" after 6 mins ? These WU's are really short.

It just says Waiting to run. Also the elapsed time disappears on these units after they have been stopped.

The server was down for the last 12 hours because of power line problems. After two outages in a short perdiod of time I didn't want to risk possible database damage so I stopped everything.

Well, the short work units are going OK now. The first 10 or so just stopped working, but others seem to be starting and completing in around 30 mins (50% cpu)

The problem with the shortest tasks was the deadline, it was missing one "0", that caused panic mode on most of the clients. It's fixed now, however there are still some tasks with short deadline left.

On one of my computers, I have received a huge amount of short tasks with a 38-hour deadline that caused panic in my scheduler. Even working 24h/24, I had to abort 50% of them that will never be able to complete in time. I still have 27 tasks completed and waiting for validation but "the server is down for maintenance" from hours, and now the deadline is over.
By chance my other computer only received a very few of these "short tasks", so it had time to run other BOINC projects.

The project is down because of bug in validator, the old one didn't work properly (because of the new credit system and a few other things), so I tried to build new one based on latest sources, which are bugged.
Don't worry about the tasks that will meet their deadline, BOINC has mechanisms to deal with situations like that.

What I suspected has occurred : 0 credit for the 27 tasks sent after the deadline whilst terminated before.

From France... Hi there is a beginner...
I am participating to 4 projects Enigma, Seti, Einstein, Climatprediction...
I am frustrated as only enigma is not running... on a regular basis.

When reading this forum and enigma main page there is not much activity and updates.
Could, someone, provide clear update for beginners ?
Thanks in advance.

Moreover... on this forum...
Could we have a topic in french managed by an expert to help french audience ?
Pourrions-nous avoir un sujet en Francais géré par un expert afin d'aider les participants fancais ???

Thanks to folks from PNT who helped me with debugging, yesterday I fixed serious problem with the server software.
For unknown reason, every now and then when the file is received from client, it's copy saved in the upload folder is corrupted. Usually it's content looks like the original file copied to itself a few times. The reason why it's happening is unknown, but I patched the validator to filter out the corrupted data, so it doesn't reject these results anymore.

The source of the problem was found and the bug is fixed http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/changeset/23041
At least one other project was also affected - dnetc.net.
