Hi there,

I'm new to E@H but interested in spending CPU time. So I've added your project and hope for the first WU. Running BOINC for about 3 or 4 hours, but the only reply I get is "Project has no jobs available".

Is there nothing new or is it only a local problem?

Thanks in advance!

It is quite common for me actually, and I will say it is not caused by some local problems or lack of jobs to do in general. In fact I think it is caused by some temporarily technical maintenance. And soon you too will be receiving many WU to work with.

Maybe some more experienced members will give you a better and more detailed answer.

Welcome to the forum !

The server will be out of work at least until Sunday. The next batch will use slightly modified WU file, it wil require updated wrapper and server side patch. The client side is mostly done, but the server code changes I've planned for Sunday.
There's also a glitch somewhere in the server scripts, it shows wrong number of WU's availablÄ™ or it does not send the last batch.

I think I already sent this as a private message to the big cheese, but I asked if I need to alter anything regarding my Boinc setup.
I assume I just wait for more jobs to be downloaded, right?

What's up with Enigma? I thought it was to be back up 7/31. Is something wrong on my end? I do see the messages concerning no new work available.
Just wondering.

The work generator is currently halted. Perhaps it will be resumed today with a new batch of workunits, or at least small batches because probably I'll need WUs for testing.

Right now I'm working on the app again, one of the testers said that it does not report checkpoints correctly, I'm trying to find out what could be wrong to avoid problems known from the last app. The old one did the same thing, on majority of the systems it did not report checkpoints to the core client.

The upgrade will be installed on the server as default, so if you're not running optimized apps with app info, it will be downloaded by the client automatically.

Also, the server upgrade will be backwards compatible with older apps, just the progress indicator will keep jumping wildly.

Hello,

I have recently noticed I am not getting jobs...
Logs show -->

02/11/2010 09:41:38 Enigma@Home Sending scheduler request: To fetch work.
02/11/2010 09:41:38 Enigma@Home Requesting new tasks
02/11/2010 09:41:42 Enigma@Home Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
02/11/2010 09:41:42 Enigma@Home Message from server: No work sent

Is it something I have done, as there appears to be loads of jobs available to send.

This has been happening for a few days now.

It's quite strange. I had the same problem about a week ago. Now I'm getting loads (hxzkv) on this machine while others aren't getting any at all.

That's because the server software has a bug, if it aborts workunit ("cancelled by server" status) it also resets host's consecutive_valid count, which eventually cancels hosts's reliable status. If there are no reliable hosts, high priority work has no place to go and the queue gets stuck.

Thanks for explanation.

Is there anyway I can get my "reliable status" back?

Hi TJM. Hope the server is going well Is there any word on how it will be before work will be flowing?

I answered my own question by reading Temporarily out of work I'll await new work.

The post you've read is kinda old.
Work outages are nothing unusual, workunit batches are manually generated (and sometimes based on previous results), so outages between them are almost unavoidable.
Also, from time to time I have to stop the workunit generators to clean the database a bit and move older results to offline database to save resources - the server is a piece of junk and it doesn't like situations when the database gets too large.

I am also getting this error message:

1/22/2011 5:46:05 PM Enigma@Home Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
1/22/2011 5:46:05 PM Enigma@Home Message from server: No work sent
1/22/2011 5:46:05 PM Enigma@Home Message from server: Enigma 0.76b _("is not available for") Microsoft Windows (98 or later) running on an Intel x86-compatible CPU.

Same on my OS X (10.6) machines. They are not getting work either.

I'm getting the same problem as well:

Enigma@Home Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
Enigma@Home Message from server: No work sent
Enigma@Home Message from server: Enigma 0.76b _("is not available for") Microsoft Windows running on an AMD x86_64 or Intel EM64T CPU.

Happening for the last 2 days for me.

EDIT: The server status page says that everything is up and running and there are workunits being sent and received (from my reading/analysis of the situation).
