I have a 350 MHz G3 iMac that is failing all of its work units... Does Enigma require AltiVec?

At any rate, I've suspended new Enigma work on this host... Haven't gotten a result from my G4 yet, to see if it's a PPC thing. My Intel Mac (MacBook Pro) seems to be returning valid results, but both the BOINC manager and website WU info show CPU time of 0. Also, progress in BOINC manager remains at 0 until the unit is done, when it naturally reports 100%.

I think it should run on G3, but the app is quite old and it was never fully tested.

The Mac wrapper has a lot of minor bugs, the source was fixed (I think) and I've added progress indicator, but I don't have a Mac, so I have to find someone who will compile sources.

I think that Dotsch either forgot about me, or didn't read my mail or PM here :-D

My 350 MHz G3 iMac with Panther 10.3.9 shows the same behavior. WUs are finished few seconds after start, but are invalid with "process got signal 5"
see:
http://www.enigmaathome.net/show_host_detail.php?hostid=6100

A G4 Mac Mini with Tiger 10.4.11 has no problems, exept the missing progress indicator and CPU time = zero of the Mac-wrapper.

Good news.

@TJM: When can we try the new Mac app?

Things still seem to be "working" on G4/Intel for me. There is something wrong with the time estimations for the currently running session, which is documented somewhere in another thread.

The app itself works, the wrapper is the real problem here. It does not read CPU time correctly, this causes minor display bug on the site (0 CPU time shown on workunit/result pages), but also decreases the Task Duration Correction Factor slowly and affects client's job queue (especially after the TDCF drops to very low value).
Unfortunately I'm unable to fix this bug, my knowledge about MACs is close to none and I don't have any machine to compile/debug the wrapper.

Building the wrapper on Mac isn't that easy, a few users already tried and failed - it requires the BOINC API so basically all the libraries from BOINC source tree have to be compiled first.
