Post: Looking at the Server Log page, I noticed that there are candidate solutions with scores higher than the some of the high scores posted on the home page and in the Top results history page. It seems that the top three scores at any given time should be displayed on the home page. Is this intended, and if so why? I also noticed that most users who have generated a high score do not show it on their account page. For example, on Condor's page it shows "0 Top Scores" while it clearly shows Condor's candidate solution as a top score on the home page and the Top results history page.

If this is the case, would it be possible for the solution to be hidden by a nonsense message with a higher score? Post: It seems that a good solution to protect the forums from spam would be for the project admin to enable or configure some of the built-in protections mechanisms: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/ProtectionFromSpam. I particularly like the Akismet system which allows users to post even if they have no credit, which could be helpful to someone having trouble getting started.

Post: Is it possible to provide both a 32 and 64 bit version of the Enigma application, similar to Primegrid and Rosetta@home? This would provide some speed-up across all 64-bit hosts on this project, not only the ones with the optimized app installed. It seems that this would be an easier solution than creating a GPU application, as some others have suggested.

Now that the challenge is about to start, the high server load seems to have caused the work generator to pause. Is it possible to increase the threshold that the work generator pauses for the duration of the challenge (9/26 - 10/03)?

Post: Each of the different WU types attempts to solve the same message in a different different way. Since the solution can be found by any of the wu types, it would not make much of a difference speed-wise. Since the keyspace is so large, we might actually have to search through a larger space if one of the methods fails to find the solution. I hope this helps.
