I know only the "Top results history page" (Thread from TJM about the page).
Probably just TJM can tell more about that.

Great! Congratulations to ThrasherX-17 and the project.

How long took the project to decode the message (time/cpu)?

Take a look here:

I saw this in the video, all problems solved. :-)

Many thanks for the help, now I can try a little decipher...

Thank you for the quick reply and the nice video. :-)

On the video, I could see my problem. First, you use the ring setting "AHA." That's what I did. But:

I have the WRMKX radio message from Frode's site.
"WRMKX IWRZK XKSNY PZZDQ XGLYB UBSUX TPBJV SWRNU HAOUC DUAWE NTBLQ OKNHS FLIRD NRTAL SAFQZ NPRQA ILXTM TNBIH MALKO DKRAD TQJTC WVWIJ IJFTA MNGQY GJREU GNXIB XHWUW WLJYK L"

The first 5 letters "Kenngruppe" i have skipped and decrypts the message. So I did it also with the "KEJNQ" message. That worked. In the video I've seen that you are not typing the message from the beginning. You start with the letter 22 (GLYBUB...). This confuses me very much.

Without this information it was impossible for me to achieve the same result.

Thanks, Grubix.

ps: I hope I do not disturb, because I've written here in "News". You can move it into a other thread.

HA is the rings setting, middle and right.
Thank you. But I can not set the left ring to nothing. I can adjust each ring from A to Z. With "HA" I do not have the setting for the left ring.

I have tried out all the values from A to Z for the left ring, but for the "WRMKX" message I do not get the result from the main home page. As I said, with the values from post 9, I was able to decipher the "KEJNQ" message. The Enigma machine works, but the settings of the homepage I can not interpret correctly.

I would like to play around with the radio messages. With these values (message 9 from TJM in this thread) I could decode the KEJNQ message by hand:

UKW: B
Wheel order: 253
Stecker: AD BH FG IJ KN LZ MR OS PW QV
Rings: AJE
Message key: ITZ

What are the machine settings from the homepage?

m3_wrmkx102_2: score: 2065217 settings: B:HA:XQO:412:AMBGCJDZEOFNHKIRLPQSTX

My guess:

UKW: B
Wheel order: 412
Stecker: AM BG CJ DZ EO FN HK IR LP QS TX
Rings: ???
Message key: ???

"XQO" is either the "Rings" or the "Message key". But in "HA" one character is missing, i think.

Can you help me? Other tips for decoding? Grubix.

OK, thanks for the reply.

I think it's because I do not get turned off the powersave management at Kubuntu 10.4. With Kubuntu 8.10 it was no problem with "powernowd".

Hello.

I have installed BOINC on a computer (Athlon 64 6400+) and wanted to run a benchmark (to find the best client). The benchmark is from this post.

With Kubuntu 8.10 (2.6.27-7.generic), it looks normal:

grubix@ubuntu:~/enigma_benchmark$ ./start
2010-10-11 19:27:48 enigma: working on range ...
2010-10-11 19:33:21 enigma: finished range

real 5m31.772s
user 5m31.753s
sys 0m0.040s

Now I have installed Kubuntu 10.4 (2.6.32-25.generic) and I am a little confused:

grubix@ubuntu:~/enigma_benchmark$ ./start
2010-10-11 19:50:32 enigma: working on range ...
2010-10-11 19:56:07 enigma: finished range

real 5m30.806s
user 2m2.448s
sys 3m28.273s

The total running time is the same, but now the most time consuming allegedly by the system. Why?

Little later I used a optimized client (from buninek). Again under Kubuntu 10.4:

grubix@ubuntu:~/enigma_benchmark$ ./start
2010-10-11 20:52:29 enigma: working on range ...
2010-10-11 20:56:09 enigma: finished range.
Best score: 1760525

real 3m39.766
user 3m39.702s
sys 0m0.028s

It looks normal again, but now am even more confused. What's up with the systemload for the default client under Kubuntu 10.4?

Thanks for the help, Grubix.

... I haven't gotten any new work in days.

In fact, the Server status page shows that the project has no more work (Results ready to send) in the moment. :-(

9/29/2010 10:22:54 PM Enigma@Home Sending scheduler request: To fetch work.
9/29/2010 10:22:54 PM Enigma@Home Requesting new tasks for GPU
9/29/2010 10:22:56 PM Enigma@Home Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
9/29/2010 10:22:56 PM Enigma@Home Message from server: Project has no jobs available

This is a problem of BOINC. Your computer will work for the GPU, but the project has only CPU-WUs.

... Did I pick another abandoned project?

That's a good idea, but comes back later... :-)

So what??

Nothing. That was just an information for other users. I wrote this only because it was discussed in this thread. I have no problem with the runtime, it's okay for me.

We have optimized apps don't we???? ;)

Yes, that's right. After this posting, I even got help with the installation.

... so I'd stop complaining about the owvha68's...

I have not complained. If it has sound like so, I apologize for that.

This morning I had just seen a "hcdwa68" WU. I think that was done after 15 or 18 hours. Run on a 2.0 GHz Turion. When I'm home, I write the exact duration.

I am currently trying to provoke the error. After the WU was sent, I interrupt the connection before I receive the server response. Thus, the WU has been received at the server, but my client wants to send them again.

Now I wait a few minutes. Then I set the internet up again, and the client wants to send the WU again. After the request, I now get immediately the answer, that the WU is already recieved.

So far, everything looks good, i can't provoke an error.

Bye, Grubix.

I'm not sure if it's possible to fix the existing uploads, perhaps removing ... and adding ...

The trick worked:

After some minutes, the server shows this:

That is no problem for me. Much more important is that we have found this "Project file upload handler is missing" bug (perhaps, i hope).

Till now, I have been used the trick in these WUs: awgly100_0_ ADBD, ADCl, ADDA, ADGi and awgly100_0_ADGu_0

For the WUs awgly100_0_yRCq_0_0_0 and awgly100_0_yRzk_0_0_0 it was too late, they had already disappeared with the message "giving up ...". On Monday (possibly not until Tuesday) I'll try it with the other computers.

I wish you a good week, Grubix.

No, just keep them as long as you can - these workunits are now useful for debugging.

OK, no problem. I'll help you gladly with all tests I should do. You should endure only my English more. ;-)

Btw, are you sure that the PC you used at home (the one I received data files from) didn't connect via proxy ?

Yes, but I did it only when I wrote it to you. Then I went back through the proxy.

The client_state says that proxy is configured, and <no_proxy></no_proxy> is not set, so I guess it will try to use the same proxy settings that you use at work (if it allows connecting from outside).

When I copied the data for you, I had re-configured the computer to use the proxy. I can also access the proxy from home. It is provided so.
